We now have an excellent opportunity for a proactive and commercially minded Commercial Controller – Retail to join our dynamic and collaborative finance team. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives on partnering with Retail Operations, delivering insights, and driving performance across a fast-paced retail environment.
The Position
As the Commercial Controller – Retail, you will partner with Retail Operations to monitor and improve store-level performance, including sales growth, margin optimisation, and controllable cost management. You will lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the Retail channel, ensuring alignment with company targets and strategy.
Your remit will include developing and maintaining reporting for retail performance (store P&Ls, KPIs, and variance analysis), while providing commercial insights and recommendations to optimise store performance and portfolio effectiveness. You will also support new store openings, closures, and refurbishments through financial modelling and scenario planning.
This role will see you identifying opportunities to strengthen finance capabilities across the Retail team, while proactively reviewing innovative ways of modelling and presenting data to benchmark channel performance.
The Person
We are seeking a commercially astute, proactive, and collaborative finance professional with a proven track record of supporting operational teams to deliver results. To be successful, you will bring:

Strong commercial finance experience, ideally in a retail or consumer-facing environment

Proven ability to partner with operations to deliver improved business performance

Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting, with advanced Excel and financial modelling skills

Solid understanding of P&L management, margin analysis, and cost optimisation

Strong knowledge of internal controls and financial compliance

Experience using ERP systems (SAP desirable)

CPA, CA, CIMA or equivalent qualification preferred

Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the confidence to contribute to commercial decision-making
