About the Role:

We have an excellent opportunity available to join the HR team as a Payroll Officer. Reporting to the Rewards Business Partner, you will ensure accurate and timely preparation, processing and financial reporting of Lindt payroll in Australia. Working in a small team and looking after 550 employees, the role is diverse and handling the end-to-end process for different payroll frequencies.

The role is instrumental in providing support in all payroll related projects to drive continuous efficiencies and ensure compliance with statutory regulations, Award provisions and Lindt Internal Controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Payroll Officer and Reward Business Partner to deliver accurate, end-to-end payroll processing across all pay frequencies.
  • Maintain and update employee records, databases, and master files on a regular basis to ensure data accuracy.
  • Process payroll in accordance with company policies, contracts, awards, and legislative requirements, including timesheet imports, ESS leave reports, salary sacrifice arrangements, authorised deductions (e.g., Novated Leases), and other payroll-related transactions.
  • Calculate and process termination payments, including redundancies.
  • Generate regular and ad hoc payroll reports for Finance, Retail Production, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Provide timely payroll support and advice to managers on payroll-related matters.
  • Utilise weekly, fortnightly, and monthly checklists to ensure accurate completion of all payroll cycles.
  • Act as backup support during the absence of the Senior Payroll Officer or Reward Business Partner.
  • Prepare leave reconciliations as requested.
  • Maintain accurate records of annualised salaries in line with statutory award requirements.
  • Submit and reconcile Single Touch Payroll (STP) reports after each pay cycle.
  • Manage the workers’ compensation register, ensuring correct PIAWE payments to employees.
  • Administer government parental leave payments (PPL), liaise with Finance to reconcile transactions, and maintain accurate payment records.
  • Conduct VEVO checks for employees on visas to ensure compliance prior to visa expiry.
  • Provide input and support for upcoming projects.

 

What you will bring:

An ambition to take control of your career and the following experience and knowledge:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience running and end-to-end payroll of at least 500 + employees.
  • Intermediate excel skills (able to do v-look ups, pivot tables)
  • Attention to detail, must have the ability to identify and solve issues
  • Communication skills must be clear and concise
  • Experienced in processing multi-state payroll
  • Previous experience in using MYOB PayGlobal and Workday software will be an advantage
  • Planning and organising work schedules
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices
  • Knowledge of Federal & State regulations
  • Proven ability Interpreting awards/contracts in relation to penalties, overtime & allowances
  • Understand taxation of employer paid benefits
  • Excellent numeric skills and ability to prioritise / multi-task
  • Ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders
