We have an excellent opportunity for a proactive and motivated Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic and collaborative finance team. This role offers a unique blend of financial and non-financial reporting, process improvement, and leadership support—ideal for a confident and versatile accounting professional.
The Position
As the Senior Financial Accountant you will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of on time and accurate financial and non-financial reporting for the Australian business on a monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual close rotation. That will include a combination of internal group management reporting and external reporting covering the year-end statutory financial statements, FBT, non-financial and sustainability reporting. Working closely with the Accounting Manager and Financial Controller, your other key tasks will include forecasting and budgeting, preparing for external audits, meeting compliance standards of internal controls, implementing change programs, making improvements to financial systems, processes, procedures, and policies, interpreting accounting standards in relation to new business transactions and mentoring team members.

The Person
- Senior accounting experience within a multinational subsidiary
- Good working knowledge of the application of the Australian accounting standards (AIFRS) and statutory accounting principles
- Experience in financial variance analysis and group reporting
- Mix of experience working for a top tier firm (Big 4 audit) and commercial experience (desirable)
- Strong knowledge of internal controls (SOX) and accounting systems (SAP)
- Familiarity with Australian company tax, fringe benefits tax and GST legislations
- Exposure to non-financial and sustainability reporting
- CPA, CA or equivalent (essential) and degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
- Project / change management skill and experience
- Able to set clear, high, achievable standards and goals and energizes others
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence and advise other Finance team members
- Able to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment.
